Arkansas (AR) was granted statehood June 15, 1836. State Capital is Little Rock. Arkansas has 75 counties, and 6 electoral Votes. State Nickname is The Natural State. Motto is "Regnat populus" (The people rule).

  • Alma, AR: World’s Largest Spinach Can – 65% of the spinach canned in the U.S. comes from this area. A watertower, decorated as a can of spinach, sits atop a hill and is easily spotted. Just a little over 14 miles to the north is a statue of the cartoon character Popeye, in Chester, AR.
  • Arkadelphia, AR: Reynolds Science Center Planetarium – People visiting or living in the area of Arkadelphia who also have an interest in stargazing will want to visit the Reynolds Science Center Planetarium.
  • Benton, AR: Gann Museum – Built in 1896 this museum was the office of Dr. Dewell Gann by patients who could not afford care. It is the only known structure in the world to have been built using bauxite aluminum are as a building material. The museum now houses original memorabilia, including office furniture, photos, and other artifacts.
  • Berryville, AR: Saunders Memorial Museum (see also Saunders Memorial Museum)– The Saunders Memorial Museum contains an extensive collection of almost 400 firearms. It also includes knives, victorian clothing along with other relics. There are some very special items on display as well, such as guns used by Frank and Jesse James, Belle Star and Buffalo Bill Cody, among many other special items.
  • Eastern AR: Crowley’s Ridge National Scenic Parkway – The route is 198 miles in length and is characterized by upland hardwood firests, farmland, orchards and many recreational and historical sites. It is considered a very scenic motorcycle route. It was designated a one of America's national scenic byways in 1998.
  • Fayetteville, AR: Arkansas Air Museum - Vintage aircraft (many of which are in flying condition) from the 1920s and 1930s are on display in a 1940s era aircraft hanger. There are racing planes, biplanes, and information on the history of flying.
  • Hot Springs, AR: Oaklawn Horse Racing and Gaming – Oaklawn's history goes back more than a century. Live thoroughbred racing takes place from January through April. Oaklawn also has great gaming with Vegas-style games. Don't miss the reat food and drinks. Oaklawn has been newly expanded.
  • Morrilton, AR: Museum of Automobiles – Located in central Arkansas atop the beautiful Petit Jean Mountain, it is home to the only Climber automobiles known to exist. A 1923 Climber Touring on display. But the auto excitement doesn't stop there. There are over 50 antique autos on display going back to a 1904 Oldsmobile French Front. Several car shows and swap meets are held on the grounds annually.
  • Mountain View, AR: Blanchard Springs Caverns – The underground beauty is only to be experienced. Words are inadquate to discribe the sites you will see. There are 3 different tours offered at the caverns. And what a great way to beat the heat!
  • Pine Bluff, AR: Martha Beall Mitchell Birthplace – The home was built circa 1887, has been restored, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was home to Martha Mitchell of Watergate fame. She was the wife of John Mitchell, who was the Attorney General under Pres. Nixon.
